Multi Disciplinary and Comprehensive Assessment
We at Blooming Minds aim to provide comprehensive assessment and evaluation to determine the nature and complexity of the disability which aids us to design specific interventional plans and strategies to help enhance learning opportunities.
Designing Goal Oriented Specific Individualized Education Programs
An Individualized Program is customized and designed along with parental consultation to match the child’s developmental level and learning strengths and areas of concerns. Services may include Sensory Integration, Speech & Language Therapy, Social Skills Development Programs, Educational Therapy and One-to-One Intervention Sessions.
One to One Sessions
We at Blooming Minds provide 60 minutes of One to One Sessions which are specifically designed according to the child’s needs and abilities in a Multi Sensory approach which includes Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, Tactile based stimulation, along with Art based therapy and Sensory Integration. Each session is customized keeping the child's interests in mind and is predominantly child directed.
Speech, Language and Communication Development
Blooming Mind focuses on helping the children communicate in all of their environments by building on their strengths. The children are encouraged to communicate using various means that are accessible and best suited to meet their needs and abilities. The communication programs include Spoken words, Sentence formation, Picture Exchange Communication System, Alternative and Augmentative Communication system, Pragmatic use of language, Sign language, Picture symbols, or a combination of any or all of these techniques. These programs also focus on Social Skills Development.
Cognition and Academic Skill Development
This program combines cognition along with academic skills development to expose children to both pre-academic and academic skills necessary to be successful in a mainstream classroom setting and to improve their logical, analytical, problem solving and critical thinking abilities. Each child has an individual education plan which focuses on developing cognitive, social-emotional, language and sensory-motor skills.
Life Skill Training
In BLOOMING MINDS the goal of the Life Skills program is to teach children, skills required to be a part of his/her family and community. The goals are set with parental consultation for their child such as brushing teeth, going to the hairdresser, shopping, increasing variety of foods, community participation, problem solving skills, critical thinking, developing working memory, socialising etc. to help children be more independent and self-reliant.
Positive Behavior Modification
At Blooming Minds we follow a Behavior analytical program for autism and other disabilities which focuses on teaching small, measurable units of behavior in a systematic way. Every skill that a child with disability has to master is broken down into small steps. Task Analysis, Positive reinforcement, altering antecedents and consequences have been incorporated in our interventional plans to reduce problematic behaviors and encourage good behavior. We also design, implement and monitor home-based behavioral interventions.
Parental Training Workshop
At Blooming Minds we are extremely passionate about the power of information and learning. In addition to delivering exceptional services and programs, we provide parents and care-givers with extensive training and resources. This comprehensive and collaborative approach will positively impact the development and learning curve of all the children with disabilities.
Parental Empowerment and Counselling
The objective of this service is to provide parents with an understanding of their child’s disorder and facilitate the development of an Intervention Plan for families that focuses on the needs of their child and the priorities of their family. Central to this process is the need to normalize some of their reactions to the shock of learning about their child’s difficulties, reassuring them that there are other parents who have experienced the same reactions and that there are positive steps they can take to address their child’s developmental needs through counselling. Parents and care-givers are trained and empowered to handle challenging behaviors of their differently abled child and to advocate for them in different facets of life.
